Balance Payment
The final payment must be paid three weeks before the due date or collection and can be made by Cheque, Cash, or BACS payment direct to bank. A Cheque must be cleared at bank before the 3-week deadline. If a cheque does not clear at bank, there will be no cake.
The deposit: I really do sympathise with any unforeseen or exceptional circumstances and will offer a refund up to 3 weeks before the planned date. I am prepared to accept re-booking or a postponement and carry the deposit over to a new date but the re-booking would be subject to prices at the time of the rebooked event date; prices subject to time limits.
As stated above, once an order for a Wedding or Celebration cake is booked, that will be the guaranteed price of the cake with no further costs added provided the order is not postponed.
Late Bookings
Should a late booking be arranged at any time within three weeks of the time of the booked dated then full payment will be required at the time of booking.
Policy Statement
I am sure you will understand that I must have a strict Policy of -
- no payment – no cake!
Once a final payment is made, and the cakes have been made, the cake or cakes are your property, irrespective of whether your event is cancelled for any reason due to unforeseen circumstances.
However, in this situation, I will do everything possible to sell the cakes for you with no guarantee of price to be recuperated. This is not always possible with sponge cakes.
Cake Delivery
To remove the worry on your Special Day to ensure that your cake will arrive in perfect condition, I provide a personal delivery service and liaise with your venue for a suitable time for your cake to be delivered. TERMS AND CONDITIONS BELOW APPLY
The cake or cakes are taken directly to your reception and set up on the cake table or stand ready for you to cut, leaving you with one less thing to worry about. I like to know that my cakes arrive at their destination in a perfect condition as you would expect and deserve.
Cakes can be delivered by arrangement throughout Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, and London.
Delivery and set up costs are based on a round trip which pays for my time and petrol. For anyone further afield, I am happy to arrange to meet on the road for handover.
I use specialist carry boxes for transportation.
Collect in Person:
If you prefer, you may collect your cake from me and cake boxes are provided free with the exception of stacked cakes. You may either borrow my specialist carry box for stacked cakes (deposit required for its return) or purchase.
I am located at Jave, Waldingfield Road, Chilton, Sudbury, Suffolk, CO10 0PP approximately 200 yards on the left on the B1118 towards Great Waldingfield - the property has a low brick wall and two large ornamental white acorns either side of the driveway
Delivery by Courier is NEVER used. I don’t know of any Courier who would or could guarantee safe delivery
The Boring Bits - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Payment Terms:
Unless otherwise pre-agreed by Anne’s Cakes for All Occasions, all orders must be accompanied with a deposit; minimum deposit £50 or full payment will be due unless otherwise agreed.
The balance is due three weeks prior to the delivery date.
Goods are delivered personally by me, or can be collected, provided cleared funds have been received by the agreed payment date and prior to despatch
Price: The price is the agreed price shown and as detailed on the invoice which is the order confirmation.
Personal Delivery
With exception to comments in red below, I offer to delivery all cakes personally to ensure that there is never any damage.
I have never let a Bride down or anyone else for that matter.
I offer to deliver all cakes with a delivery and mileage charge.
However, in the event of seriously bad weather for example: snow, ice, road closures, making delivery impossible or a risk to my vehicle or human life, I reserve the right to cancel personal delivery and request collection by the customer or customer’s representative. Under these circumstances, 24 hour notice would be given and common sense would prevail.
Risk: The risk in the goods supplied shall pass:- where the customer collects or arranges transport on delivery to the customer or its courier,
- where the goods are otherwise delivered by Anne’s Cakes For All Occasions to an address on the British mainland on delivery to that address
Property: Until Anne’s Cakes for All Occasions has received full payment for all goods the goods shall remain the property of Anne’s Cakes for All Occasions. VAT: No VAT is payable on any orders.
Defect: Our liability in respect of defective goods is, except as set out in these conditions, limited to replacement of such goods and we will not be liable whether in contract or in tort for any consequential loss however arising except:
- in circumstances where such exclusion would fail to satisfy the requirement of reasonableness contained in the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 or any statutory re-enactment or modification, or
- if the customer is a consumer within the meaning of the act.
Waiver: These conditions can only be varied in writing signed by the sole proprietor of Anne’s Cakes for All Occasions.
No other person has authority to agree any variation on behalf of Anne’s Cakes for All Occasions.
These conditions prevail over any inconsistent terms and conditions offered by the customer.
Anne’s Cakes for All Occasions will not be bound by any standard or printed terms furnished by the customer in any of its documents, unless the customer specifically states in writing separately from such terms to apply and Anne’s Cakes for All Occasions accepts such notification in writing signed by the Sole Proprietor.
